Organizing a Social Media Event for the First Time

This past fall, I helped The Midwest Modern Language Association utilize live social media at our annual convention. The MMLA had not previously organized a social media event, and neither had I, so it was a bit of a daunting task. It was difficult, it took some preparations, but the event was a big success! For a taste, see the Storify version of our event backchannel. If our first year went this well, imagine what we’ll be able to accomplish next year!
